I am disappointed that there aren't more individuals that regularly post in the religious thread that have decided not to participate in my thread.

Because those individuals are the ones who believe they own the thread, and they won't change their ways. Their ego is too big to surrender to such a beautiful petition.
I tried to accomplish something similar before, and it's worthless.

I fail with the same, that is why I try to refrain from posting.

For some this wasn't the case, this thread was posting during the typical heated discussion in the religious threads and I was granted permission by the individual that started a thread that prompted me to do this to post the link to my thread in his. And some regulars in the religious threads that where posting clear choose not to post in mine.

To me this just shows the types of people that are here, if you can clear debate a religious topic until the horse is beaten dead but at the end of the day; you can't shake hands and recognize that we are all human and will continue to have different prespectives. *shakes my head*

John Corvino (professor and gay rights activist) and Glenn Stanton (from Focus on the Family) travel all over the country and debate their sides on gay marriage. They don't hate each other, they acknowledge when each other have valid points and concede when they are incorrect. They even travel in the same car to places. However, at the end of the day they both recognize that they are humans and no matter when each other says that will not lead them to completely change their perspectives about whether or not homosexuality is right or wrong.

It is very disheartening to me that individuals that will fight for their belief system to prevail as the correct one, will not recognize the others will continue to have their own self-beliefs and are not willing to recognize that the end of it all, all we can do is shake hands, say thank you for your perspective, great point back there, and I am glad to know you; see you again tomorrow.

Besides it is a pretty futile exercise to have no one to bang up against, in who gets to be bigger than whom...

nice post T, I agree with your thought on what you state here. but alas unless Christians be kept from posting on non christian threads/post it will continue. that is why i asked M2 to start a spiritual thread and let the Christians have their coffee house chat room - maybe then who ever is interested in finding out about Christianity or monotheism, they can visit there and if there interested in other spiritual matters they can post on that thread, i don't mean to separate the two but i see no other answer - i personally don't care what anyone believes or does not believe at our core we are all the same.
