I never said Afghanistan was not worth the fight. Only that Obama's stategy of flooding Afghanistan with troops like we did Iraq may not be the best strategy. Many seriously don't think that we can or that there is a need to occupy or defend only but a small portion of Afghanistan. Most of Afghanistan is just plain old ungovernable by anybody. Nation building in Iraq as a counter tactic to Iran acquiring nuclear weapons is about the best checkmate that the US could pull off. Trying to nation build Afghanistan would be impossible. Of course, Pakistan is an issue too. It is worth the fight with the right strategy but it's going to be more difficult than Iraq.

Obama is right that Iraq has been a distraction to this war on terror. I listened to Jim Leher interview the Cahirman of the Joint Chiefs today and I was surprised to hear him define our weakness in Public. He basically said we DO NOT have enough forces to send into Afghanistan now and it is because of Iraq. The only way we can get any more troops into Afghanistan is to reduce combat troops in Iraq.

I think most Americans would agree that Afganistan was the place we should have focused all along. Bin Laden needs to be captured or killed. We cannot let his crime go unpunished.

We can win the war in Afghanistan by winning the hearts and minds of the Afghan people, proving to them that what we're offering is better than what the Taliban or any other group can offer them. We toppled the Taliban with the help from the Northern Alliance. The Afghan people need our support to see it through.

The real war on terror started in Afganistan, that's where it should have stayed and it's the war we need to bring to conclusion with Bin Laden's head on the end of our spear.

Russia failed because we, the USA, were supplying arms to the Afghan fighters. The Russians were relying on their helicopters and we provided the missles to take them out.

Both wars in Iraq and in Afghanistan cost lives and money . So it is wise to pull out the troops from both countries and end the illegal occupations of sovereign nations . I do not agree with Obama on Afghanistan .He should spend the money and efforts on the economy , health ,
science and technology and not on futile wars that already destroyed millions of lives .

If Obama should get elected and does send 100,000 more troops to Afghanistan the casualties will be a lot higher and a lot quicker than the ones from Iraq. The military leaders and the Pentagon know this - that is the only reason we don't have more troops in Afghanistan. The nature of the disconnected tribesmen and the terrain makes it far too difficult to engage the enemy like we did in Iraq. Ask the Russians.

You got that right. Just ignore a person for being a REP.... no matter that their ideas are better than anything some lib comes up with. Right?

Yesterday the Pentagon put out a call for all Commanders to search their commands for any available troops they might be able to spare to be sent to Afghanistan.
Commanders in Afghanistan are asking for at least 10,000. The Pentagon said they have nowhere near that many to send.
My question to you Republicans is,
How could Bush crap 30,000 when he wanted to surge, but cant find 10,000 for the fight against the ones who attacked America?

Isn't the SURGE over, and troop levels back to pre-surge levels?

If so, shouldn't there be at least 30,000 available to send to fight against those who attacked America?

Three simple questions.
Please explain..
