I met the most wonderful guy on here and my grandma used a derogatory term to describe him and said that if I had children with him they would not be welcomed in the family or in the world.

Is this the same grandma that called protective services and told them you were beating your kids because she didn't want you to move out? Consider the source. I met the most wonderful guy on here and my grandma used a derogatory term to describe him and said that if I had children with him they would not be welcomed in the family or in the world.

This is not an issue unless you make it one. It is very simple to diffuse a situation before it gets started. If someone rubs you the wrong wasy with remarks, simply tell them that you do not tolerate those types of remarks. Usually it is easily resolved. End of story and they keep their remarks to themselves.
