My youngest daughter is Goth and she wouldn't admit it if hot fire was applied to her hair!

Misconception. That doesn't make a goth either. It is attitude and outlook and world view, and a wide variety of things.

She might enjoy the flaming hair...... But I get your point. I know only two others besides myself that will admit to it. And one of them coined the term cowgoth and we have been using it and spreading it ever sense.
