all i can say is wow what is the big deal. seriously the editor didnt do anything wrong.

oh but look im a liberal....

BTW...that's why circulation of the NYT is soooooo down today. People are tired of reading junk news.

FOX is popular because they report independant of what all the rest report. People tune in to get another perspective.

Like it or not...that's what FOX offers... ANOTHER PERSPECTIVE!

For your information NYT is a newspaper and everyone now has accessibility to that on the internet that is why all newspapers have become obsolete.................and fox news is newsbroadcast which is easier for the general public............since our society is a now society where we want easy access instead of reading or researching the facts we just think that what we hear is truth when it is unfair and biased such as the Fox News channel............

The papers have a lot of subscribers around the world. Local papers have become rare and hard to find here in Kentucky sadly. I miss the editorials from the crazy people laugh

If you want honest news, get it from somewhere not affiliated with a network. I recommend the Troy Chief. Sure all the news may be about Doniphan County, but it's all true, there is no bias, and amazingly enough very few tragic stories.

BTW The New York Times has been priniting bold faced lies since at least 1925, and these are just the ones I know of. All the news that fit to print my donkey.

Quick, i think even the conservative letters to the editor would make you think your a liberal here. Most of the time it was from people who thought that we are all going to hell because kids are too crazy today and how we will all explode from being fat and just random crazy things. O_O

Rupert Murdoch owns them both, which means they will be biased right-wing.

More about old Rupert:

http://rightweb.irc-online.org/profile/1304.html

'Murdoch's News Corp has holdings in film, television, cable,
newspapers, books, magazines, and more. Properties include
the New York Post, the National Geographic Channel,
HarperCollins Books, and 20th Century Fox. In 2006, Murdoch
acquired MySpace, the popular social networking website, as
part of Fox Interactive Media. (For more, see
NewsCorp.com.)'

You read that right. Rupert owns National Geographic and MySpace.

Monopoly control over the media is bad.

Very bad.

hears somthing i got from freind in gov----------STRONG, POWERFUL AND COURAGEOUS WORDS COMING FROM A RETIRED COLONEL, AND READ WHAT LINCOLN HAD TO SAY AT THE END. WOW!........................................................................................................................................

33 Senators Voted Against English as America's Official Language on June 6, 2007 !
On Wed. 6 June 2007, Colonel Harry Riley, USA, Ret. wrote: Senators: Your vote against an amendment to the immigration Bill 1348..... to make English America's official language is astounding!
On D-Day, no less, when we honor those that sacrificed in order to secure the bedrock, character and principles of America, I can only surmise your vote reflects a loyalty to illegal aliens.
I don't much care where you come from. What your religion is. Whether you're black, white, or some other color...male or female......Democrat, Republican or Independent....... But I do care when you are a United States Senator representing Citizens of America ...and Vote against English as the official language of the United States .
Your vote reflects Betrayal. Political Surrender. Violates Your Pledge of Allegiance. Dishonors historical principle. Rejects Patriotism. Borders on traitorous action and, in my opinion, makes you unfit to serve as a United States Senator...impeachment... Recall........Or other appropriate action is warranted, or worse!
Four of you voting against English as America's Official Language, are Presidential Candidates: Senator Biden, Senator Clinton, Senator Dodd and Senator Obama!!
Four Senators vying to lead America, but won't, or don't, have the courage to cast a vote in favor of English as America's Official Language when 91% of American Citizens want English officially designated as our language! This is the second time in the last several months this list of Senators have disgraced themselves as 'political Hacks'..... Unworthy as Senators and certainly unqualified to serve as President of the United States !!

If America is as angry as I am, you will realize a backlash so stunning it will literally 'rock you out of your socks'......... And preferably, totally out of the United States Senate!

The entire immigration bill is a farce... Your action only confirms this really isn't about America... it is about self-serving politics......despicable at best. It has been said: "Never Argue with an Idiot....They'll drag you down to their level !"

PRESIDENT ABRAHAM LINCOLN SAID:
'Congressmen who willfully take actions during wartime that damages morale and undermine the military are saboteurs and should be arrested, quickly tried and hanged!!!"

PLEASE KEEP THIS GOING AROUND THE UNITED STATES UNTIL THE ELECTION IN NOVEMBER!

Washington Times...

Poll: News media biased for Obama
S.A. Miller and Jennifer Harper
Tuesday, July 22, 2008

Just as a new poll showed most voters think the news media is biased in favor of Democrat Sen. Barack Obama's presidential campaign, the New York Times spurred criticism by refusing to publish an op-ed article on the Iraq war by Republican rival Sen. John McCain.

The Times said Mr. McCain's piece was not up to snuff, unlike one it ran July 14 by Mr. Obama of Illinois that presented a 16-month pullout timetable for Iraq, and the newspaper suggested how it should be rewritten.

"The Obama piece worked for me because it offered new information (it appeared before his speech)," David Shipley, editor of the Times' Op-Ed page, said in an e-mail to the McCain campaign. "While Senator Obama discussed Senator McCain, he also went into detail about his own plans."

McCain campaign spokesman Tucker Bounds said Mr. McCain shouldn't be punished for being consistent with his positions, and the Republican Party said the critique smacked of censorship.

The flap erupted as a new Rasmussen Reports survey showed nearly 60 percent of voters say Mr. Obama gets better treatment from journalists. Nearly half of voters - 49 percent - said reporters would help Mr. Obama, compared with 14 percent who said Mr. McCain benefited from friendly coverage.

The Rasmussen survey suggested the perceived trend is intensifying, with those seeing a pro-Obama slant jumping 5 percentage points from last month while views regarding Mr. McCain stayed the same.

Mr. Shipley in the e-mail, a copy of which was obtained by The Washington Times, said the newspaper would be eager to publish an essay by Mr. McCain that "mirrored" Mr. Obama's piece and articulated in concrete terms how Mr. McCain defines victory in Iraq.

"It would also have to lay out a clear plan for achieving victory - with troops levels, timetables and measures for compelling the Iraqis to cooperate. And it would need to describe the senator's Afghanistan strategy, spelling out how it meshes with his Iraq plan," Mr. Shipley wrote.

Republican National Committee spokeswoman Amber Wilkerson said Mr. McCain's strategy for victory in Iraq is not based on New York Times' requests.

"Unlike Barack Obama, Senator McCain will continue to advocate a winning strategy war based on conditions on the ground, not an arbitrary timetable for withdrawal," she said.

There goes the proof that the media bias is NOT in favor of conservative views... but in fact, has a liberal bias.

FOX does a public service by giving another perspective. Something libs don't like because they keep wanting to move the line of decency & call it "the norm".

From what I read so far, the NYT did nothing wrong. They want certain information from McCain and how could he tell the truth, that being, that HE WANTS MORE WAR AND MORE PEOPLE DYING. Kinda hard to sell that point to any sane people prior to election time so he must keep that hush hush for now.

Fox offers only what the unintelligent would call news in my opinion. I get a great laugh from most of their so called "fair and unbiased", very biased, bordering on prejudice slant on the daily news. They promote the prejudice, hatemongering agendas in this country in a format that is less obvious but still as damaging to this country.

That's funny, I've always found FOX to be extremely (to the point of too much) 'open', 'accepting', 'thorough', and balanced with all available newsworthy events ...

... that serve the nearly 50% of their religious right regressively conservative 'clientèle'.

Bias?!?!? Not if you shut down half of your senses.

The fact that a certain newspaper is 'doing well' does not mean it is printing the news that needs to be printed, nor does it mean that it's unbiased.

IMO.

There are many instances of companies 'doing well' that don't do enough for their customers.

Like when a certain software company who is 'doing well' comes out with a new operating system that's full of bugs, which means it hasn't been tested enough but the company puts it out there anyway because it wants to make more money.
