Topic: what works?

Ok so Im on a diet and I have been "stuck" for about a month at the same weight! I count calories, I switch up exercise between swimming, jogging, and strength training... and I really just dont know what else to do! Got ideas?

actually that is last resot...but dancing...dancing...dancing...you can do it at home, nobody is watching, go for it, uses tons of muscles and burns a gob a calories...worked for mebigsmile

have you tried the atkins diet?I have used it it works great.
My parents also use it they have lost over 100 lbs together.:wink:

dont go by the scale go by the way your clothing fits, when I plateau (stay stuck) I change things up including diet and exercise... work out a little bit harder and the results sure do make me happy. Have ways to go but Imma get there :thumbsup:

Did it! Lost 30 pounds then gained it ALL back plus some! and I was miserable!

Check to see what percentage of your body is fat. You probably are gaining muscle - which weighs more than fat - and not even realizing the transformation.

It's possible you have plateaued and will need to work harder to lose even more. It's nature that the body fights back when it perceives rapid change in composition.

Oh, stay away from Atkins. It's not sustainable over the long haul.

lots of fun and it really works, I have lost 140 over 18 months and other than walking twice a week has been my only form of exercise...with a desk job...so yes..it does work...good luck to you!

Take boxing, where you actually hit a heavy bag. Forget situps. Learn to work the bag an hour a day, 3 minute rounds with 30 secs rest between, and WEAR WRIST WRAPS AND BAG GLOVES. Squats and pushups will help too. I guarantee you will see results in as little as a week if you commit to it.

Sorry to hear that. It worked for me tho I was able to lose 40lbs and keep it off. I know people that have also gone on it and gained it all back. What worked for me was when getting off the atkins diet to introduce my body to carbs and sugar slowly while exercising. Tho I still rarely eat sugar I just don't crave it.

might also try "billy Blanks" Ti-Bo, works extremely well

what about the special K diet?

I know someone that lost about 80 lbs in a months time...special K, fruit, veges & excercise (not even that much excercise in her case..lol!)
..thats all she did..she looks great.

Less food and more exercise always works for me .
I heard swimming does not help you lose weight .
Jogging is excellent .Good luck and do not starve yourself now .
