Have you really looked into a child’s eyes?
As there looking up to you and hear there cries.
That is caused from hunger and pain.
You try your hardest to maintain.
As you hand out clothes that are made of cotton.
To these children that seem to be forgotten.
It makes your heart break it is so sad.
It makes you wonder how things could get this bad.
It makes you wonder why things like this happen.
Could our hearts be closed and not open?
It is without a doubt.
Children should never have to go without.
They are left all alone.
In the distance you can hear them moan.
At times you can hear there cries and pleas.
At times it will bring you to your knees.
These are things a child should never feel.
This pain of hunger is so real.
Instead they should feel the arms.
That will keep them from all that harms.
They should not have to fight off the bugs.
Instead be smothered with hugs.
You should be able to hear there laughter as they play.
But instead they wonder each day.
Will they heal?
Will they get a next meal?
They see your face and know they will be okay.
But what about tomorrow, for this is just for today

Well said Txs. It breaks my heart to see any child left behind, without
shelter, food and the warmth of a loved one. Why?

Thank you both again this was written for my friend in Nigeria he sent
me an e-mail today to tell me of the orphans he went to go see today and
how sad it was they were so poverty stricken there with very little of
anything. I guess we never really realize how good we really have it
here in our world.
