I have a year left of grad school and pretty much no motivation left for it. I will finish my degree and everything but right now I'm sick of being in school.. I've been in school for the last 18 years of my life and have pretty much run out of steam. (a lack of knowing what I want to do with my life doesn't help either..)

So.. a friend of mine has offered to let me come stay with her and her family (rent-free) if I want to take a year off of school. I'm considering taking the offer but can't quite decide what I want to do.

Thoughts?

(and the whole "if you don't finish now you never will" thing doesn't apply to me, I know I'll finish, that's not the issue)

A year off to clear your head, re-group and rejuvinate can be a good thing - done it myself in the past ... sounds like you've been very dedicated to academia - a change of scenery and pace might invigorate you! Best of luck either way!

have you ever lived with a friend and or their family? It's not the greatest situation to put yourself in even if you're super close and all that jazz

Just weigh out the pro's & cons, before making a decision:smile:

I can understand and relate to ur dilemma, near the end u are just plain old tired and can't find the motivation to move on, taking a short break like a semester off may rejuvenate ur energy and focus..drinker smokin  drinks drinks

And if u decide to live with ur friend, although she has offered her home to u, just to preserve the quality of ur friendship it is always the best policy to contribute regularly to the household financially as well as housekeeping.

Enjoy and whatever u decide to do Good luck

I think you have already summed that up for yourself.

I'm sorry I am confused as it is. Do what you think is best. (lousy answer but it's better than my mixed up mind telling you what to do). G/L!!
