Spanish is the most common langauge in the world. Them spaniard settle
all over. The only thing are the dialects which differenciate them. Soy boricua, mi lengua natal es el español. Que Dios les bendiga a todos. |

I understand spanish (you have to with 3 daughters talking in spanish
around you THINKING you do not understand what they are saying *S*) I use a translator device to write spanish. But I know what people are saying. Strange uh? |

When I was a kid in Los Angeles they discouraged any bilingual kids from
speaking Spanish so the Spanish-only speaking kids could learn English. Back in the '60s, by the time one got into high school, taking a foreign language was mandatory. By the time I moved to Nashville in 1970 in the seventh grade, though, it wasn't mandatory and since, back then, most people here only spoke "Hillbilly," I didn't see the point in taking the classes. I sure wished I would have, though. I live in a very "Hispanically populated" community and ...Lord have mercy. Some of these guys here are muy muy caliente! But I can't really converse with them. Damn! My loss. |
