how many here are really happy with thier lives overall, with all the aspects of the situations they find themselves in, good and bad? how many are content with life here and now? i know I am - are any others?

I am very happy with life, but I have the sick obsession of wondering and asking myself questions "why!" lol Otherwise cannot complain at all. Very lucky to live in peace and happiness.

As long as my cat's happy I'm happy. So far he just lays around and doesn't complain. So we're cool here.

I've never been "content". Oh my no! There is way too much to do, too much to learn and I was so clueless in my younger years. Time is never on our side, but it takes us so long to find that out. Now that I know so much more and have put together the pieces of my past that detracted from my moving ahead - I'm on it, on a mission. I suppose if one were ask me if I had any real long term goals - one of them would be that I find contentment with who I was, what I had accomplished and that I had loved and been loved - all before I die. If that doesn't happen, then I died trying to achieve that goal. I suppose in a circular sort of way, that makes me content. Well I'm glad I talked that out - good to know one can be content without having achieved, in any difinitive way, the desires of a lifetime.

I am happy with my life. But I'm not completely satisfied with myself because I feel should have more self discipline and self mastery. I think I am a bit lazy. I wish for more energy and more drive. In short, more life, more vigor. It may not be good to become too content. A little discontent or even a lot will move me to change a situation and make it better. There is the artist in me who has not picked up a paint brush for months who feels neglected and a bit forlorn. Today I vow to do something, just one small thing, that will satisfy my inner desire for life and creativity. Do something for yourself. Feel better today than you did yesterday. JB
