Just a suggestion, maybe a lil more light? I am sure you can find someone man. You aren't bad looking at all and you do not come off as a psycho. I would say you got a great shot!

Yeah....the main pic is a shot I took with my webcam and the lighting in my room isn't all that great.

Thanks for letting me know that I don't sound like a psycho. LOL

Then again....would someone actually tell me if I did?? I mean....if I sounded like one....then maybe I could actually BE one...and people tend to be cautious. :-)

Ok. So now that we have determined that I'm actually NOT hopeless....

I have a question for anyone interested in answering...I got the idea for asking this from someone I exchanged freidnly emails with last night....

Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that almost all of the profiles here say pretty much the same thing? It's like there is a list of key words on the web somewhere that says you must use the words " laid back "..." easy going "..." down to earth "..." tired of games "...or some variation of those particular phrases.

Isn't some of that stuff kinda obvious?

" Liars and cheaters....keep looking " is a particularly good one.

What do you think the chances are that if a guy or gal IS a liar or a cheater, they are going to see that line and say " Whoops...guess I better go on to the next one ".

Just kinda wondering whether it's just me that finds that stuff a bit silly.

Too long and unorganized. "Oh yeah and..." no no no.... You have 30 seconds to sell your product, they won't hang around for an infomercial. Say want you want more than what you don't want.

So basically, there is a 30 second attention span? If it takes longer than 30 seconds to read a profile, it's on to the next?

I guess I'll be in a world of trouble here then. If their attention span isn't long enough to read what I wrote, then it's also not long enough to actually have a serious conversation. That's the way I see it anyway.

Not really....think of that 30 seconds as only you talking in a conversation and them listening. Thats a lot of time to do all the talking. Your profile is about 3 minutes of me me me talking. It's not going to work for too many people.

Keep it to one inch and save the rest for a back and forth conversation with them. It will give you something to talk about.

Fair enough. Point taken. I will try to narrow it down a bit. Can't promise a 1 inch paragraph...but I'll give it a shot.

I think it is fine the way it is. I like finding profiles that actually have something in it worth reading. And personally, if your preference is to write a lengthy profile, then do it. Don't let anyone else try to persuade you to do things their way, especially when you are happy with the way you do things. Don't change for anyone!!

Best of luck to you!flowerforyou

Thank you. :-)

I honstly was thinking about changing it up a bit because even to myself, it does seem a bit disorganized.

I really was serious when I said if a woman doesn't have enough of an attention span to actually read it then she probably wouldn't have one long enough to have a serious conversation. That's just the way I feel.

I may not be able to shorten it much, but I believe I can make it flow a little better. If not...I'll just stick with what's there.

Like I said before....point taken. BUT....I think I would much prefer to let a woman know what I am about, rather than have a couple of email conversations, tell her that I like metal music and going to concerts, and then find out that she doesn't listen to anything but Classical music.

Or that she thinks golf is an exceptionally stupid game. It very well could be, but I enjoy it and I don't want to wind up being in a relationship where I feel compelled to give up the things that I enjoy. Been there and done that.

I have been on this site for a while now, and only a couple of women have shown any interest via Mutual Match. If I find someone, then that's great. That lucky woman would find a guy that would treat her very well and show her the love that she deserves. If I don't, my world isn't going to collapse. I would be more than happy to find someone to share my life with, but if I don't, then my dog does a pretty good job of keeping me company. :-)

Ok...so in taking some of the advice given here....this is what I came up with. Lemme know what you think. Please. :-)

I am just a simple guy who likes simple things. Cuddling up with that special someone....watching a movie....or reading...or just spending time together...all work equally as well. I am a good hearted man. I am honest ( to a fault at times ). I have a good sense of humor and I love to laugh at small things. I am pretty good at finding something funny in just about any situation. Even if nobody else gets the joke...I have no problem with cracking myself up.laugh

I love loud rock music and I like to go to concerts. I don't get to go as often as I would like....but I enjoy myself when I do go.

I love to read...and I love to cook.

I am not very good at writing stuff about myself....so if there is something that you are curious about....feel free to ask me.

I am also looking for someone who takes a relationship seriously.....but not TOO seriously. Together in all things...but able to go and do their own thing as well. I don't mind if someone doesn't like ALL of the same things I do..as long as I don't feel compelled to give up the things I like doing ( like golfing with my brothers and Dad ) if she doesn't like to do them as well.
