I slept with my windows wide open last night (like I do during the summer months)My neighbors decided to have a blast starting at 2am, there was music, she was shouting ( she may defend it as talking) but from what I can gather it was only the two of them. They then decided to take the late night party into the garden ( right under my bedroom window) Now, I hasten to add, noise ( any noise) does not prevent me from sleeping when I want to.I just had a real evil thought ( stemmed from what a friend of mine did) when she had neighbors who were noisy, she programmed her computer with one weeks worth of music, turned up all 8 speakers and went away for a week..................... Just a thought

May I be the voice of reason here? IMO, doing something like this is only going to serve to make things worse between you and your neighbor. Best thing to do is just talk to her, and be direct about how you feel.

I have to agree with Kleisto. I know of what I speak, because as a former foster mother of over 400 kids, I have found that retaliation only adds fuel to the fire. They may have been drinking and if this is part of their lifestyle, there is quite the potential to become....and remain....unreasonable. And you never know if they are some of those kooks that solve things with a gun. Better to say something in a polite, light-hearted way. And if that doesn't work and there are a lot of other houses around that have the potential to hear them, call the cops and tell them you think someone is getting hurt. They could think it was anyone and maybe they will be embarrassed enough to shut up.

This was meant to be a light hearted post, second, I stated that I could sleep through any noise when and if I need to sleep ( they don't know that)I was up surfing the net ( the only reason I heard them( they also do not know that) I also stated that it is my second week at this new house and do not know the natives would or would not take to me. I have no intention what-so-ever of confronting them ( I live here on my own) I will let someone else call the police and I doubt they have a gun ( not so easy to get guns here in the UK) Legal or other-wise.

I think we have the same neighbours.......they like to party almost every weekend and of course my bedroom window is right there. Same thing......women getting drunk and yelling and getting into fights with their husbands........men getting into fights with other men, men and women yippppppppeeeeeeeeeeeeeee yi yaaaaaaaaaaaay howling........no respect for people having to go to work the next day!!!

What is it with people, when you react ( not that I would) they then get on their high horse as if you have no rights to ask for a bit of peace and quiet! As I've said this is my second week in this house, who knows they may be very nice people.I must add she has one of the most infectious laughs I have ever heard.
