Topic: Taking a time out! | |

I have given myself a time out for snapping at a coworker this morning. I was such a jerk!
They said the flowers should arrive around 2pm. What do you do when you've done a coworker wrong? Please don't tell me I'm the only one! |

Just apologize....should do the trick....and you might offer lunch

I truly wouldnt have gone the flower routine, and I have snapped on employees on occassions, but normally apologize and offer lunch.

I agree that an apology will work. Depends on how wrong you were but that should be enough if it is sincere.
I spend more time w/ some of my co workers then I do my own family. They are my family. Which sometimes means we fight like brother and sisters haha Hopefully this person will understand and forgive you. Good luck! |

Depends on if its a male or female . Seriously me and this one guy at work are friends but sometimes he gets on my nerves and says something to me...I tell him I am older than him, I am not the teenagers he is used to dealing with and to KMA. Then we are friends again..LOL..We all have our days, we are human and can get on each others nerves. A simple apology should suffice and if it doesnt then something in that persons mind goes much deeper.

Please don't tell me I'm the only one! You seem like such a sweet person, that I can't imagine you snapping at anyone. Or if you did, that it would be as bad as you're making it out to be. |

Before becoming disabled, I was a director and handled all sorts of work situations. My advice is to take a few minutes to talk with the person you snapped at. Explain why you snapped and apologize, then move on.

Oh yeah, I forgot to ask one thing. It sounds like you're on mingle2 while at work. I don't know what the rules are where you work, but when I was at work, a person would be fired on the spot and walked out the door by security for being on the internet outside of our own company intranet.

Good luck! happens to all of us - we say things we dont mean, shouldnt say, hurt others. Apologize and move on is what I would have done, but if getting her flowers makes you feel better, then go that route. |

She'll be ok once she's stops taking it personally. I told her it was me not her, and I really screwed up! She was still scowling at me after the apology...so flowers to try to bring her smile back. |
