tell everyone they must wear their bathing suit under shorts and a t-shirt. First drink, they have to hand over the t-shirt, second drink, their shorts...if they are naked, they can't go into the pool area. bigsmile

Very good....however, if everyone imbibes enough they'll all be swimming nekkid before the night is over...

that would make sunday mass quite interesting tho! laugh

"My spiritual organization bunch of drunks "

Good thing the Bible tells us not to judge cause I could tear this one up.......

Just an observation.......

It is a good thing you have a book to tell you not to judge, and thank you for your judgment.

I have a dilemma that I'd love some help with. Serious help with this please!

My spiritual organization goes to camp every summer. This year, the camp has a pool that will be open for night swimming. The problem is that we can't have a bunch of drunks trying to swim. We're looking for a way to monitor those seeking entrance to the pool area. There is cocktail hour before dinner and then the beer tap is open all night after dinner. The committee has decided that after two or more drinks, people can't go swimming. Any ideas how to monitor this? We have a meeting of the camp committee this weekend and I'd love to have some ideas to put forth. Thanks!

Stamps on the hand. If they've got two, they can't swim. Simple. Like the kind they use in nightclubs to prove you've paid the entry fee. Most of them are waterproof as far as I know.

this is actually a great idea to start with. i was thinking of doing something with like poker chips. you get two at the beginning of the night. you have to hand one in with each drink you get. you need a chip to be able to enter the pool. BUT...not everyone drinks at the beer bar. some people will BYOB. so ultimately, i'm thinking we just have to trust that everyone will do the right thing and follow the rules and get thrown off camp if they break the rules.

If they really wanted to limit drinking they would ban BYOB for this event. Sounds like their organization needs work.

I gotta ask...

1. what kind of spiritual organization is this?

2. they aren't adult enough to know when they are too drunk to be in a swimming pool?

3. how old are these people?

4. how do I join? laugh

1. it's a non-denominational interfaith community

2. yes, they should be and that's why this is in discussion by the committee

3. it's a family thing...babies to 80s

4. send me an email and i'll fill you in bigsmile

Hire a bouncer for the gate! Get a rock band! Throw a wet t-shirt contest! What happens at the pool, stays at the pool! nGo to mass in the morning and pray for forgiveness!

I think there will be a bouncer at the pool. We don't have a band usually. Well, there is live music at talent night. But it's dancing with DJs every night. Wet t-shirt contest may happen. No need for forgiveness!

Somehow, I'm thinking there are at least some of these people attending that nobody would want to see naked.

This was what was tossed around as probably the easiest solution. There is still the issue of those drinking BYOB though and how those people will be stamped.

Personally, I think if you have to worry about Adults in the pool because of drinking, then just don't allow the alcohol. It's as simple as that. Plus if it's BYOB, how can you regulate who is drinking what or how much?

I am a lush and if I drink 2 beers there's no way I'm going near a pool cause more then likely my drunk ass would drown. So, like someone else said, 2 drinks to one person might be fine, but 2 drinks to someone like me could be dangerous. JMHOflowerforyou

Right. By limiting drinking for those who choose to swim. whoa BYOB doesn't work for that. They can't control it.

laugh that is usually true. there isn't too much public naked display on camp during kid hours. now private displays, yes. off camp, yes. it's all quite appropriate.
