Here liquor stores are open up after noon on Sundays. Most bars close 2am during the week and I think around 4am on the weekends.

What can I tell ya...this is NY.

problem is.... they wont have state funds and the state wont have control of all the extra money they charge for the taxes lol.... liquor is more expensive in the states where it is sold at the liquor stores. the extra goes to state funds... so they will never change back here lol... greedy peeps lol

Sorry to hear that Dubz. My point was more like what Button was saying. If you can buy liquor in a bar on Sunday's I feel like you should be able to purchase it in a liquor store as well. I have a friend that owns a liquor store and they have fought for years to be allowed to open on Sunday. Of course lobbyist hired by the bars and restaurants make sure this doesn't happen because it will reduce Sunday business. I would rather know they guy down the street is drinking his jack and coke sitting in his lawn chair rather than sitting behind a wheel.

We're all moving to NY. How is it Britain, USA, Canada makes such a fuss about alcohol, yet in the rest of the European nations, the Canary islands and most all Caribbean islands you find bars open right round the clock? Just an observation............

Hmmmm, I live in a drive-thru state and you can buy beer and wine anywhere and liquor on Sunday if you have the license to sell it.

I rarely drink liquor so I don't care really stupid people will do stupid things regardless. And I figure if they are drinking at home that's great, but really, they drive anyhow. They drink at the homes of their buddies, not home alone.

Well, I know you can't buy liquor in Kansas on Sunday, but can in Oklahoma. This guy my family knew that lived in Kansas went to Oklahoma one Sunday and drank and was coming back to Kansas when he hit a car head on and killed the driver. His brother was injured and couldn't attend his funeral. They were very close friends of ours as well. Very sad this had to happen. This happened back in 1981, but still bothers me to this day. They were just going to Oklahoma from their home in Kansas to attend a movie and they never made it. This happened in the late afternoon on a country road in Oklahoma. Please, don't let a friend drink and drive.

I used to work at a place where we administered alco-sensors. One night I went with a friend to a bar down the street. I drank two shots and two drinks in about three hours, and then I had her bring me back to blow in the alco-sensor. I blew a .085 or something right around there. I am 5'8" and of average weight. That was at least four ounces of liquor.... just saying.

The legal limit in most states is .08. That is WAYYYYYY more than one beer.
