tongue piercing is practically painless... once pierced you experience the tongue swelling, but ice helps and not eating salty, spicy foods help too. That day you sound like Sylvester (cartoon) but it truly doesnt last long. Before you know it you have gotten used to the piercing.

Be aware that the tongue ring does and can cause damage to your teeth, after all it's either steel or gold.

Had my piercing done years ago, got over it, removed piercing and it closed up. no problems whatsoever. Good luck and make sure they know what they are doing...

I think nose piercing, just a tiny diamond on the side, is cute. When I turned 50, I was going to do that, and get a tattoo of something, but haven't yet. I'm so traditional, but need to step out of the box. Sorry, I digressed!
