Topic: Acoustic guitar players | |

I'm looking for some new guitar players to check out. I'm a pretty big fan of acoustic guitar music but I'm not to keen on the country music. Dave Mathews is pretty cool so is David Gray but I'm looking for more obscure talent that isn't so well known yet. Anybody have any suggestions. Cheers

Rodrigo Y Gabriella These two in their mid 20's are very good and their story is a fascinating read material going to Flamenco real stuff Rafael Raquini is excellent Older Masters Paco Pena and Paco De Lucia are great I actually trained in his workshop (Paco Pena) in Anda Lucia in Spain |

I've listened to Pace De Lucia before but I haven't heard the others, I will have to check them out. I'm a pretty big fan of guitar history too so the older players I'm curious about even just from the historical perspective. Sort of like what Segovia did for the guitar. There are some really cool stories out there |

You may have also heard of John Williams and Julian Brim theses are guitar gurus . Went in late 80s and formed a band called SKY if you haven't heard them you should. As for the history if you send me an E mail I will let you have some documents of the evolution of the Lute in the morish to Spanish transition you may like to study In addition where the Flamenco originated and the different styles such as Soliares, Bulurias, Tangos, and so on Let me know I was also going to suggest Andre Segovia the Spanish virtuoso who until age of 86 produced world class recordings and the current USA musician Christopher Parkening was taught by him for many years before being recognized |
