Relax, democracy is here to stay for quite a while yet. There are even a few non-democratic countries that aren't in the dark ages. The only real threat to democracy is totalitarianism, but freedom can always be fought for if one is willing

Well and considering we are a republic government, not a democracy but supposedly we are forcing democracy on other parts of the world, would that make us hypocrites? Everyone needs to vote, our voting system depends on EVERYONE voting, otherwise the voters are the power in this country. You see where that has gotten us.

It's more important to be informed about what the politicians are doing. Unfortunately the media has turned into nothing more than a tabloid spin on news. It's sad that they have no integrity to report what is important & factual news. (sigh) I guess we can only vote those who would govern that is close to our own values & then hope for the best. I'm not holding my breath on that one.

In Canada it don't matter who you vote for or who wins the election cuz the bottom line is...the taxpayer/voter is gonna get screwed. Hell it's so bad, we got politicians changing parties just cuz they think it gives them a better chance of getting elected.
