*grin* sounds to me more like the large lady was attempting to flirt oh dreamy one, not to be annoying. And you better not be calling women fat and being rude even if provoked, it would tarnish your knightly armour. laugh

I asked if I could call her fat. I later said in my post:
"She used her large fat belly to block..." It was a descriptor of her. I NEVER called her fat as an insult.

Kind of like when you call a gay guy "girly"?huh

That sounds like a highly prejudicial comment.

All overweight people have fat. I could stand to lose a few more pounds of fat while retaining muscle. Look up the word in the dictionary. Now look up gay and see if that says "girly".

Ok so would you walk up to a gay guy/girl and tell them they were gay? Or even homosexual? It doesn't matter the word usage, most would find it offensive.

You were wrong to say that or to try and compare the two things.

I wonder why Peccy and Lilangel2 deactivated...hmmm, do you think maybe? Nah...

Yes and yes! My sister is married to a woman. I have spent time with her and other lesbians, transsexuals and gay men. She in fact is a leader in the gay community. The people I talked to are VERY proud of being called "gay" or "homosexual".

Most gay men are not "girly". That is an insult and it is prejudicial. Not a good descriptor at all.

What about fat? "The term overweight means that a human being has more body fat (adipose tissue) than is optimally healthy." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overweight

What I was implying is there are better ways of saying it, overweight is a better term then fat, fat being derogatory.

don't use it its akin to using the word "a$$" as a desciriptor of someones behaviour (not saying a person is one, but their actions could be construed as "acting like an "a$$"..........

Her weight wasn't the problem; it was her manners.

You may call her rude.

its not nice to call someone fat

I would never call her fat to her face. That is not nice.

Like saying it behind her back is any nicer. Some people just don't get it.
