Topic: Just a little thread survey

If you could make any changes to the thread community, what would they be?

What new topic areas would you like to see introduced?

What do you like or dislike about the threads?

Do you think moderators should become more active in dealing with rude posts?

Are the threads the reason you would consider de-activating your account?

And one final one thats not so much about the threads and kind of trivial but being that not to many people like the new colors, what colors do you think should be used?

Feel free to add any new questions if you feel like it. I just figured I would start this little survey because so many people are saying they are not enjoying themselves on the threads.

Cheers

I think mods should treat everything fairly regardless...

The site is 18 years and older, right?

A little more freedom of speech would be nice. Seriously, putting ****** instead of the word. Ooooo.. like we don't know what the word is (in context), so just spell it out, for chrissakes.

If you could make any changes to the thread community, what would they be? I would let people swear...this is an 18 + website after all...we are not in preschool

What new topic areas would you like to see introduced? None..who cares. The mods seem to have fun moving all the threads around because they have nothing else to do

What do you like or dislike about the threads? I don't like that I can't speak my ****ing mind without being reported and then emailed by some geek with too much time on their hands

Do you think moderators should become more active in dealing with rude posts? I would like to know what mods define as a rude post?

Are the threads the reason you would consider de-activating your account? the theads are the only reason that I keep my account

And one final one thats not so much about the threads and kind of trivial but being that not to many people like the new colors, what colors do you think should be used? Hot pink

How about a limit on the number of threads an individual can start in a 24 hr period.
I am getting tired of the same people starting numerous threads.

This isn't adultfriendfinder.com. I appreciate the fact that they don't show the word. Some of us don't like vulgarity!

There have been several requests for a philosophy or science forum. I still wish we could get one ...

We are forced to have the discussions in the religion section and they seem to go a little awry ... huh

In answer to that, our moderators do not make up the forum rules, we only enforce them. The rules are applied evenly. Obviously we can't catch every bad post, thats why you guys have an abuse report feature.

Secondly, Moderators do not make site changes, those are Administrative actions and can only be enabled by the admins.

Considering all the recent devastating natural disasters, the starving infants, and mothers with AIDS out there, none of this survey stuff really seems immediate. Mingle 2 ought to become a pay site and OUGHT to be donating to charities or something. huhthink:thumbsup:

hey mark, hope I'm not stepping on toes, I was just having a bit of fun. I was curious so I asked! I'm sure people realize I'm just a member and not any type of moderator or anything like that!

Interesting statement about what definition of rude or hostile post should be used!

If you could make any changes to the thread community, what would they be?

*No suggestion.

What new topic areas would you like to see introduced?

*Maybe adding a place for trivia/polls/opinions to clear the General area for more substantial topics without having to sift as much.

What do you like or dislike about the threads?

*I simply enjoy being able to contribute my thoughts to different topics of interest. It's an important part of discovering the likenesses and differences between us to learn different viewpoints on issues.

Do you think moderators should become more active in dealing with rude posts?

*I think when people disagree on the forums they are more likely to work it out between themselves than might be suspected. I do not want to see name calling or personal attacks naturally.

*I have wondered if moving the disagreement to a private "mediation" thread might be effective for dealing with issues. A forum where the mods and the people in disagreement might come to terms and make nice without the need for harsher punishment. Just a thought I've had.

Are the threads the reason you would consider de-activating your account?

*I don't really think about that.

And one final one thats not so much about the threads and kind of trivial but being that not to many people like the new colors, what colors do you think should be used?

*I think that warm and fuzzy colors are easier on the eyes as well as less agitating. Toward the later, I would recommend blues and yellows, but yellows might prove as harsh on the eyes as the oranges reds and pinks. So possibly blue and beige? IDK

Feel free to add any new questions if you feel like it. I just figured I would start this little survey because so many people are saying they are not enjoying themselves on the threads.

No, asking is fine

As for some of the suggestions, the admins are aware, however, with the transition of the site, some of these suggestions have been put on the back burner so to speak..

The site Administrators are working hard every day to make improvements. Some new features have already been added, and more are on the way i'm sure.
