Sometimes when one looks carefully it isn't "Showing off". It might actually that they know of what they speak. One should be extremely careful assigning motives. You do not need an expert to know that someone is showing off like a monkey .....

I think it's a difference of opinion. To some it may appear as showing off when in fact, the person is right on target about what they are speaking, yet the one judging the "monkey" might not know all of the details that the poster knows. To others who know the person and/or details of their life, it would all make perfect sense.

Why do some people show off ?. I think people show off because they are not well educated ,have an inferiority complex , frustrated as they might be bored or did not find what they were looking for ,and obviously to bring some attention to them ....etc. I Agree.
