What if God actually turns out to be nice and isn't predjudiced and bigoted like the bible claims?

Wouldn't that be wonderful? flowerforyou

Also, why to believe believe in Jesus when they reject all the other sons of gods that were described in Mediterranean mythologies?

It was just another story, not really all that differnet at all from Apollo and all the rest. Just about every God in Mediterranean had a son that served as a buffer between the people and the godhead.

Don't you think it would be utterly absurd beyond an coincidence that men would have invented mythologies that just happened to accidentally be the same thing that God had planned all along?

That doesn't seem to give God much credit for having an original idea. It would appear that God was just copying man's fabricated mythologies almost to a "T".

Why would the creator of our universe be so lame?

Lame? Are you admitting that he made you in His image? You really need to find a less hateful hobby. You know, like running over kittens with your car or bungee jumping without a bungee cord. Things that might bring a smile to your face...... like witnessing brutal mutilations? flowerforyou

How can God be wonderful when the whole world is somehow screwed up in one way or another ?.
I always put the blame on whoever created this mess in the first place : God or Gods .....!
If there is a God or there are Gods to start with .
frustrated frustrated .

He?

He who?

The mythical God of ancient Mediterranean mythology?

I don't believe that I was made in the image of Zeus or any other ficticious God that those ancient men invented.

You people just don't get it, and probably never will get it the whole time you support religious bigotry and political unrest.

The world is headed for a major religious war and it's all based on ficticious mythologies.

So sad.

Spit in the face of humanity to support mythological bigotry and hatred. Where's the love in that?

A loveless religion. ohwell

Everyone must be converted to believe in only one mythological god. So utterly stupid. frown

Here is my point of view. If a person has come to a point of enlightment such that they have seen that God is imaginary. The same fact should allow this person to become free of the idea of God to the point they should not even care about the rest of individuals who still believe in God.
When I see an individual (with all due respect) that makes 10 threads trying to prove why God is imaginary. The only two conclusions I can come up with are:

1) This person has not gotten the level of enlightment required to don't give a dime about God and those who believe in Him; or

2) This person has become a fundamentalist atheist whose only purpose in life is destroy the idea of God.

Personally, both instances are foolish because if this person has understood that God does not exist why even care. Let the crazy people be crazy, and be happy and grateful of your level of understanding that the rest of us does not have or this person is not in peace with his/her "enlightment" this the reason why this individual has focus his/her existance in the destruction of what he/she seems to reject.

Again if I believe that something does not exist why do I put so much energy in arguing that this thing does not exist?
It's enough to know of the non-existance of something and just live life to fullest.

However, to each one to his/her own delusion.

TLW.

That would be like saying the people who don't have cancer shouldn't care about it, or become doctors to fight against it.

Religion breeds hatred, bigotry, and political unrest on global scale.

If you're in a boat and everyone in the boat believes in rocking it, should you care?

Well, if people who are rocking it appear to be so blind and careless that they might capsize the boat, that you just happen to be in, you might want to see if you can knock some sense into them and get them to stop rocking the boat.

Just because non-believers don't believe spreading bigotry and hate doesn't mean they are going to stand by and watch other proselytize the whole world to behave in such a way.

Surely you realize that if they whole world were convered to Christianity that would only be just the beginning of the real religious wars? Christians would turn on each other instantly trying to create a single super-sect. They won't stop until there's just one lonely person left on the planet walking around talking to himself, "I won! I won! I won!" ohwell

Dear Abra...
I know that some non believers
are very kind, loving & respectful...

< but there are some non believers who have come out of the woodwork
to bash Christians and just recently too on these threads....
and are so filled with terrible accusations, hatred & hypocrisy ...it is soo sad & tragic ...
the exact same things they accuse the Christians of,
only much much worse >
