Topic: Best Xbox games | |
---|---|
I got an Xbox about a year ago for $25 from a garage sale. Unfortunately, it wouldn't read any games. But instead of throwing it out I kept it hoping to replace the laser or drive. Well the other day I got a game (Jet Set Radio Future/Sega GT 2002) put it in and it loaded right up. So now that my system is working I'm looking for some good games to get for it. What would you recommend?

Well, good games is a fairly relative term. It all depends on what you like to play. If you like FPSes, you should defintely get Halo 1/2, Black, and Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath. If you like RP games, you should try out Fable. If you're into action games, Try out Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. Those are all in my collection and I still play them on my 360, with he exception of Stranger's Wrath, which isn't compatiable... yet.

My favorite xbox games are Psychonauts, Fable Lost Chapters, Conker Live and Reloaded, Stubbs the Zombie, Warriors and Destroy All Humans.
Finding Psychonauts might be a bit tricky. It didn't sell well largely because someone screwed up and not enough copies were released on the market, but definitely one of the funnest games I've ever played...and I'm a very picky gamer. Best thing about Psychonauts: The attention to detail and the level to which you can interact with other characters in the game, and also the video game art. Said art gives it kind of a Nightmare Before Christmas feel to it. Don't worry, there's no singing ad nauseum. Best thing about Fable: I liked the story and the level of history about the game world. Once you're leveled up enough you're virtually omnipotent, and no one can do much to hurt you. Best thing about Conker: The funny story, coupled with the cinematics that are ripped off of famous movies. And cursing squirrels are just, well, cool. Plus, fighting a singing ball of poo is excellent. Best thing about Stubbs: Being a zombie, eating brains and raising an army of the undead to do your dirty work. Best thing about Warriors: Simply put, nothing beats the gang fights. Best thing about Destroy All Humans: The title says it all. Besides, using your various powers against humans, (particularly telekinesis) is a laugh riot. Pick up a human with your mind, launch him/her into the air and watch how that person bounces off objects. Also, this is the only game I know of that lets you ricochet a tank off a government agent's head. |

A few more games I forgot to mention that are worth note is the Prince of Persia series, which plays like the Tomb Raider series but with a TON more acrobatics thrown in.
Also, I believe the Grand Theft Auto games were released on Xbox as well, so you should give those a try if you like carnage, mayhem, and open ended games. Another great series is Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell, which is basically a stealth action game. The first three were released for Xbox, so they're well worth your time as well. I've played all of these games on the PC, so I'm sure the Xbox counterpart is just as fun. |

I saw it at Gamestop the other day, but got something else. And I forgot about Fable. A few friends told me to check that out. |

I have the first Splinter Cell as well, but I wasn't a real big fan of it. I prefer Metal Gear Solid for stealth, even though only 2 was released for Xbox. I might give Prince of Persia a try. |
