Love sickness...it is a mental effect that affects your body's function. Stomach turning in circles, chills, faint, and so on.

You don't catch it. When you fall in love with a really great guy/girl, your mind can only think of them. You won't think straight. When that person is near, it's like their soul just went inside you (giving you the chills). When you aren't near them, you start to feel sick because you have to have a dose of them.

Can't eat, can't sleep, can't concentrate. Have obsessive thoughts, excessive daydreaming. Feel nearly opposite or conflicting emotions at the same time, ie: fear & hope, doubt & faith, joy & melancholy, excitement & peace. Yep, sort sounds like a mental illness, don't it?
