Don't know if this should go here, but I'd rather it be general discussion then anything else.

Do you believe in karma? I think it works to some extent, but it is in the hands of the person to do something right about it. I don't fully know much about karma other than what I've learned through Buddhism and even that was limited education for me. So I am interested in your thoughts and any education you can give.flowerforyou

Well Fear, Karma much like Justice (themis) is blind, it is not good or bad, evil or devine. When people call on Karma for others, they also call upon it for themselves, and most people have done SOMETHING to deserve "negative" karma.

Karma comes in all shapes and sizes, and if you don't "count your blessings" you may not see your "positive" karma.

If the company you keep and the situations you allow yourself to be in and how you handle them = karma, then yes, I do. But we used to call it common sense. huh

What goes around comes around is usually based on your own good or bad judgment in my experience.

Life gives you just what you ask for. flowerforyou

So Karma is controlled by the person not by anything devine? And if you could clarify "count your blessings" as that is an open term from what I see here. I see my positive karma often, as I try to be a good person most of the time...of course being I am human I have flaws to a certain degree. However if I haven't counted my blessings, how would I see the good karma or am I possibly taking good events and calling them karma?

For instance, how many people called out the calvery for me last night...some would see that as intrusive, I saw that as pure love... i counted my blessings to have such wonderful people who cared about me.

I don't believe in any of that at all. I think a lot of people have some sort of intrinsic need to try to place arbitrary connections/reciprocals on things that are inherently random and chaotic.

If you believe in a system which incorporates a karmic "evening out" process, then it logically follows that there must be some unseen who or what making the determination of what constitutes an action/thought/whatever that is karmically answerable. That leads to the necessity of an intellect or entity behind the process. That's too much like religion for me, and, since I have yet to see anything that even remotely hints at such a circumstance, I choose not to believe until such time as I see some sort of evidence.
