I dont think you find out if someone's your soul mate till after your living together, and the honeymoon peroid is over, and it becomes more of working as a team, where you start to face and acknowledge the flaws you previously where turning a blind eye to.

I once thought i found my soul mate by just looking at a profile....she was gorgeous in her pictures, hot body, sexy, & nice A$$....

her profile essays were unbelievable....she was intelligent, outgoing, kind....we started to write & then long phone conversations....finally after a few weeks we arranged to meet....after a couple of hours of conversation, some drinks & appetizers.....i could feel we were connecting....
I reached over and kissed her....something did not feel right....her face was scratching mine!!!! I looked closer at her face & then I realized.....

You can't get to know someone until you meet. Everything before that is scripted & edited...from the profile to the e-mail. Phone calls may reveal a little more, but face to face interaction is the only way to know. Even then, it is going to take time to get beyond the 'being on best behavior' stuff. How do you know if it's real, if you don't know the other person?

I dont agree with the first part of that. I think thats up to the people involved. I think face to face is just a way of verfying things. It's easier to lie or put someone on over the internet, but that doesn't mean everyone does it. If you both are honest and have a 2 hour conversation about your love of cats, there still going to like cats when you meet them. Some people i met and we picked up right where we left off on the phone. Some i've met and it was obvious that they where trying to be 'ideal'. Thats not really differnt from picking up a chick at a bar. People that try to look 'ideal' get quanity, people that just are themselfs get quality. I don't think the internet has anything to do with that. People that are honest, and you get along with over the internet, you'll get along with face to face.
