A voice in the night awakes me
A small scared voice
It is my own
Another nightmare of the past
It seems that they will never fade
I turn on the light
Picking up my pen I write
Another nightmare it seems has taken sleep from me
So I write and write
Coming out of the darkness and into the light
Someday the nightmares will not come
And I wonder is it you
That will chase them away
Make me feel safe enough
That the darkness never comes again
That in your arms wrapped so tight
I will live only in the light
With a great sigh I put the pen down
Shut off the light
Pull the covers up
And think of you
Drifting off to sleep again
Thoughts of you in my mind
Sweetest dreams I now find...
