so your into girls? thats so hot where did I say that? you said not looking for boys then you must be looking for girls there is only 2 sex on this earth I like men. Not boys and girls.

I think it's more of a terminological convention than anything. I have seen dozens of women in their 40s and 50s who use "girl" or "gurl" or some permutation thereof in their screen names. It's just shorthand for "Oh, by the way, I'm female" to me. Call me "boy" if you want, I'm good with that. I wouldn't see that as degrading or reflective of some sort of lingering juvenility. Then again, I'm egregiously immature, so it might be more appropriate in this instance, anyway! Oh.Lex, you are such a bad boy!

of a 55 year old guy who says he is looking for the right "girl". GIRL? That alone would make me not talk to him. If I wrote in my profile that I was looking for the right "boy", what would you think? I'm with you, but on occassion I try to overlook it. Old school stuff that just hasn't disappeared. I've been known to correct men AND WOMEN on that stuff!! Is it an old school thing? Back from the little woman barefoot and pregnant at home days?

If I wrote in my profile that I was looking for the right "boy", what would you think? well if you wrote you were looking for a boy, i would be like sounds pervie and like child molesting. i hope that he doesnt mean that??? because that could potentially be very bad.

I am from CT and I live in PA; where men are men and women are women and boys and girls are children. thats the same here. a man is a man a women is a woman and boys and girls are children. doesnt that mean the same everywhere??

Are you maybe over analyzing? Just a thought....ducks and covers his butt on the way out of the thread. maybe, but just wondering why a grown up man is looking for a girl. Is he afraid of women? I like to write but if I use the same word again and again then its fairly bad. Interchanging woman and girl is ok for that reason but I would have to look at the profile to see if that was what he's doing. "I would like to find a woman who is nice and knows how to plant corn. She should be a woman who is not afraid of pigs or chickens. The woman I am thinking of will be someone like that woman in "Annie Get Your Gun"."

I would not judge your words until I knew you better....writing a profile about one self is not easy for some people...... Perhaps you might help him instead of talking about him....We guys could always use the wisdom and insight of you ladies... My .08 Peace Ok, that is a kinder,gentler way of looking at it. Consenting adults choose for themselves . . but he said a girl, i would class a girl up to the age of about 16, then i would class her as being a women. what makes you think hes talking about a 20, 21, 22 year old and not a 16 year old girl?? did i miss something??

I just really don't think anyone is trying to be offensive about it, that's all. If someone said something to me that I didn't like, I would just ask them not to do it again. I wouldn't think they were a pervert or something...unless they did it again. Again, IMO! Hey, I tried you chocolate! Let's just say I'll stick with Hershey's! Do you have Hershey in England?

Yep...well except the 'egregiously immature' part I think it's kind of endearing to still be referred to as girl...'You go girl', 'Babygirl', 'That's My Girl', 'Lookin good girl'
