Tattoos dont make a person low class, thats like saying scars, or deformaties make a person. If I wish to pay a tribute to someone in a classy tattoo, that does not make me a low class person drinker flowerforyou
I didn't say that tatoos make a person low class; I said that was my perception of WOMEN who get tattoos when I was growing up.

Scars and deformities can't be helped. Tattoos are optional.

When I was growing up, only a certain type of woman went and got a tattoo. I know it is different now but it's one of those things from childhood - I would never get a tattoo for that reason.

thats right, mark yourself up, I think its a sign of problems expressing your self, and being happy with who you are, I havent seen any I want on me from now on,

anyway, its up to the person I guess ,

that's a bit judgmental for those who just enjoy making a statement .. geesh

just saw your other comments .. a bit redeemed laugh

no..when I grew up only low class women got tatoos. My daughter has one and I am not happy about it.

My son just got one a couple weeks ago.. he's 14! His dad let him get one while on vacation in FL. Was I called to get consent (I'm the custodial parent).. hell no! If he wanted to get one fine but he could have waited till he was 18....

my daughter has been pushing for one since she was 13...she finally went and got one about two months before her 18th birthday..I don't know who signed for it and I am too tired to care.

I have 5 and can't wait to get another one. My favorite is the one of my children's names in the shape of footprints. All of my tats have a reason as well. I used to say that I would never get one and that they were tacky. Well, for my 27th birthday, a friend of mine bought my first one and I was hooked. I got 4 more in 2 and a half years, and more are planned. Everyone has a way of expressing themselves, and this is mine.

i have three so far but want more
my son wants some but i told him 18 that way he doesnt come home with something he will regret later..hes got three years.
to me tats are art and a form of expresstion
its fun to walk up to someone and ask to see their tats and 9 times outta 10 they will be more then willing to show you and then tell you their story. great convo starters too.

and that statement is true. When I was growing up, only low class women got tattoos. Where in that statement did I say anything about you or people who get tattoos? I was talking about myself and the way I grew up. Did you not ask in your OP if people were against tattoos? I thought I was allowed to share my experience and my perception. I judged no one.

two things, also..this is not the time I was growing up ..its several decades later..and you are not a woman.

I was talking about why a tattoo is not right for me; because in my mind it is ingrained that only low class women get them. I know times have changed and I am not talking about women today who get tattoos..I am talking about what goes on in the dark recesses of my mind.flowerforyou
