How do you get rid of the smell if it is in the air? What's the most effective thing?
I got some pine sol, some incense, various colognes....any advice is appreciated. I know there must be something like burn some toast. sick

Mythbusters did a show on getting rid of skunk smell, I just don't remember what they used or if anything actually worked. Good luck.

I'm not sure about the air but tomatoes and tomato juice are supposed to work on "stuff".

Here's a site that explains why tomato juice works.

Interesting thanks. Still nothing for the air really. Maybe getting used to it like the article states is the way to go.

If you have an isolated area where the smell is such as a crawl space you could spread charcoal to soak up the smell, best done on a piece of plastic, etc. so that you can later remove it.

I wouldn't kill the skunk if you have a lot of yard pests since they are very good about eating bugs, rodents, even stuff underground. Just don't leave any places where they can build a nest. They're a lot like snakes and do more good than harm but have a bad image. Yes, I grew up in the country.

Don't know what to do to get it out of the air, just hope it paases quickly with time. If it is on furniture or appliances you could wash them down with tomato juice, etc. Other than that, not sure there is anything.

I personally think spraying a bunch of colognes and sprays or other things would just make it more nauseating to smell.
Hope you can get some relief soon. Take care.

there is no way to get it out of the air,you just have to let it fade away.we have skunks pass through our yard every night and if there was a way to getg rid of the smell,i would already be using it.you'll get used to it if you smell it enough

Thamks. It happened outside on the street. I hope he didn't get hit.

I actually really like skunks. I have had them eat out of my cats food bowl before. I have stood outside 5 feet away from three babies with their mom. While timid they knew I was not a threat and continued to eat before moving back down into the canyon.

Once I had one enter my place. That was an adventure trying to coax him out of hiding without him spraying.

The smell is something else tho. You know it when you smell it. There is nothing like it...well I don't think there is hehe. Beer? drinker
