No..babies have babies because they think everything is all good and gravy and someone SOMEWHERE will fix everything..Hell I grew up knowing my daddy didn't love me..I'm not running around having sex and makin babies for the state to support.

No..abortion isn't the answer..the babies didn't ask for stupid mama's..if anything is forced it should be forced adoption not abortion.

i totally agree. forced abortion is a terrible thing to even think about, when there are families out there desperate for a baby.

I sure think counseling and highly recommending adoption is in order here, but this is still a free country so forcing someone to give up their child will never happen unless they go through courts and prove them unfit mothers. Being stupid and selfish and young is still not a crime here, and does not mean they are not providing for the babies in their group effort. I may not agree with them, but that does not mean their children will suffer necessarily.

These girls are 16 and under..they've already shown by doing this how immature they are..just because a baby is gonna pop out of them in 9months isn't gonna make them grow up.They said that all of the fathers are of adult age but who is to say that they will step up and do the right thing..and the homeless guy CAN'T do anything..he can't help himself.

I don't think you should be able to have a baby if you can't financially provide for it. Period. There should be no getting pregnant and then expecting welfare to foot the bill. In my opinion, if you have a baby that you can't afford to raise, you are an unfit parent. Baby goes up for adoption.

Not to mention if these are troubled teens, what would a forced abortion do to their mental outlook? Then we would have to pay for their psychiatrist visits and their meds......

Well...actions speak volumes and you were obviously more in control of your emotional needs than some that age are. Everyone responds differently to situations. I know people who grew up without much in the way of parents love, who will NEVER have children because of it. A good friend of mine is a psychiatrist, working mostly with pregnant teens and you would be surprised how many times she has said that the ones who planned it, did so to create a source of love they could rely on.

I found that article this morning and found it utterly disturbing. You aren't old enought to drink but you think you can handle being a mother? There are 30 year olds that struggle what made these 17 year olds they could cope. Now there is something that I will say on the positive note... these girls agreed to raise their children together... as in the community raises the child... I think that idea is admirable but everything they did to go about it was utterly foolish. And yes you better have the parents of these girls come up to the plate... I am a parent you better believe I will have a say of what is going on when my daughter is a MINOR! This is wrong on so many levels...

I knew from age 6 that my daddy didn't care about me..that is NO reason to create a life UNLESS you are stable money wise AND mental wise to take care of it..these girls have neither.

Every situation is different, but unfortunately there is no crystal ball that can show us if a child will be in any kind of harm in each situation.

As far as saying a girl can not grow up from the time of her stupid idea of having a baby, to the moment she actually holds a defenseless child in her arms and realizes she is now responsible for a life...well I've seen it happen numerous times. My own sister, planned a child at 16 with her 18 year old boyfriend, only to be abandoned when he changed his mind and left her penniless. From the day that child was born, I cannot say that I've known a better mother!

Of course not and I am not making excuses for their actions, but they are in therapy for a reason. Their family experiences pushed them over the edge of rational thinking. They are still young though and with counsel and guidance, they are not lost yet. That is all I am saying.

I'm 23 yrs old. I have 6 siblings, and they have 11 kids between them. Not to mention all the cousins, 2nd cousins, neighbours and friends kids I've babysat. Plus, I've gone to numerous OB-GYNO and mid-wife appointments. Those women tell you some scary stuff.

These twits should spend a year in my life. They wouldn't be so gung-ho about pregnancy and mommy life. You should see how cautious I am about birth control. I have no idea how people my age, and younger do this kinda stuff.
