just all part of the global strategy to oppress the people i agree you are so right.......OPPRESION............. and it's all done in a way that seems out of anyone's control I agree, so what can we do about it? Organize protests? Set up potential riots? Stage sit ins? |

I keep telling all my friends this: someone please listen...it is on the news and the internet!
Did you know that Shell and Arco gas stations are Owned by USA?????? That Chevron is NOT! Quit buying gas from them! If for just ONE day Americans committed to NOT buying gas...the oil companies would loose BILLIONS in just ONE day!!!!!!!! When did America become so stupid and let this happen? In the 60's there was the revolt of Vietnam....why can't we get organized and let the Big Corporate idiots know that WE are not going to take it any more and that WE can hurt them financially as much as they are sticking it to us???????? But Americans has a infinity with thier cars....LEAVE them in the garages for ONE day and it will make a difference to money hungry politicians! |

Ok, so Shell is Dutch....did you get my point??????
WE as Americans are allowing this to happen and there has been no retalliation! WHY?????????????? We have the power and instead we all just b*tch and moan but haven't really made the oil companies suffer.... ALL it takes is ONE day!!!!!!!! |

We have the power and instead we all just b*tch and moan but haven't really made the oil companies suffer.... ALL it takes is ONE day!!!!!!!! The problem is that your still going to buy gas, maybe not that day from Exxon,Chevron, or Hess, but you're going to buy gas. The only way to stop is to not use a vehicle. |

I agree with Tazz...(love the lips!) but how do you start an upheaval?? lol

1. Drive less, slower & more efficiently. Plan your trips to avoid wasted miles, traffic , stops & left turns. Google "hypermilers" for more tips. I have improved my MPG by 10% with simple changes in my driving habits & car maintenance.
2. Keep up with your car maintenance. My tires were way underinflated & I didn't know. We can't all afford to buy a more economical car right away, but most of us could do better with the one we have. 3. Buy less of EVERYTHING. It takes oil to produce & tranport everything. Buy local when you can, & avoid excess packageing. even with limited space & poor soil, I am growing salad stuff & herbs in containers. I buy eggs from people with back yard chickens, or a local farm. 4. VOTE & not for the major parties! We need to elect people who are not so far removed from a normal lifestyle that they can't understand our problems or care about them. |

I actually, don't have a vehicle and I walk alot, ride my bike and take mass transit, which here in Portland Oregon uses Natural gas and electricity for the buses and rails! But in one day, if Americans did NOT buy gas the oil companies would loose billions! We have to get organized and do this for one day and let them know that we can do without them even for one day! |

Supply and demand. If there is no demand then the price drops... It is the most basic economic concept. |

I agree with Tazz...(love the lips!) but how do you start an upheaval?? lol I am not sure but we could start with everyone here and move onto others! The Media is a crutch and we could declare one day a NO GAS DAY! Maybe we could declare it a paid holiday! |

Something is got to give, and I'm afraid is going to be us..... don't even think that way................we have been thru so much agony and frustration that politicians have put on us...........time to strike back............. Who voted for George W here? we need to hang them! I didn't. |
|
|
|
I rode the buses & bikes when I was in a larger town, but now I am driving 60 miles a day just to work! I'd move closer, but the job isn't very secure & that might end up being a dumb move.

We have the power and instead we all just b*tch and moan but haven't really made the oil companies suffer.... ALL it takes is ONE day!!!!!!!! That has been tried at least twice. It made no difference. The only way anyone can do anything about gas prices is to quit driving all the time. Not to mention those gas hogg vehicles. We get most of our gas from other countries, that is a fact. It is import export. We export so much diesel, that is where the money is for the gas companies here in America. The oil....the oil. Not the gas. We cannot make other countries up their commodities to fuel our desires for more. We are a selfish nation....time to give up something. We already have a war that is for oil, money and greed. Thing is....many top notch companies are owned by foreigners now. They have the money. We...America..are so in debt to other countries that we just pay the interest on our bills. A credit nation...wonder where we got our habits? Plastic is where we are, and where we will stay if we don't own up. Kat |

If you drove a Chevy Suburban; and drove from here to Nashville, it would cost you 366 dollars. If you drove a Chevy Cavalier; it would cost you 160 dollars.
Smaller cars would save fuel more than trying a gas out.lol Those things do not scare the oil companies. If consumption doesn't decrese due to price it will stay the same. It must cease for more than a day to make an impact. Kat |

Not meaning to turn this political, but it "is" politically related.... Since diesel fuel is 5 bucks a gallon, and the farmers and truckers are taking a huge hit....not to mention the rest of us, i think the appropriate thing to do, being the OPEC nations rely on our grain, because they can't grow it themselves.... Think about it, I would raise the price of grain, lets say eight times what they are paying now. And demand they come to the bargaining table. Seems fitting.... |
