how can you tell if someone is bipolar/manic depressant i looked it up but all i found was the signs of it.i need to know where i can read up on it i think i have a friend who has this and i need to know how to deal with a person with this type of illness thanks for your help

just follow the signs from the research that you have done, extreme highs and lows, probably cant function very well in society or in every day life, but as everyone has stated, and you know, try to convince them to seek professional help, its the only way to discover and deal. best of luck to both of you

Borderline Personality Disorder. A friend's mom had it. When she told me, and started explaining it, she was also describing herself. She just didn't see it in herself. And that's what it was like being friends with her. Still, I wouldn't trade it from someone easier. She was a great friend. |

Professional help & medication! Quickly. I was married to a bi-polar and my boss is a bi-polar. Neither on meds. If you care about your friendship, get them help. Also, if this relationship is a close one, they have meetings where people go to get help on how to deal with loved ones that are bi-polar.

yeah bipolar people have the tendency to go off the bat for no reason, if something goes wrong, the only way they can dealwith it, is to act out...scream, call names, throw things, blame, just make themselves unbearable to realize they have a problem

I'm bi-polar and Im nothing like that, but then again mine is not that bad. just get bad moodswings... an my mind tends to wonder alot..bout stupid stuff like what I will do if my parents die or how I will get my dogs out of the house in a fire ect..
