Air Force from OCt 88 to Feb 92. Served in the Storm. I was one of the lucky that stayed here. I didn't think so at the time. But, after seeing what our guys had issues with after the war. I was thankful.
I did get my shipping orders in Jan just before it ended. Then they had been canceled. I worked on B-52's. Structual maint. 97th FMS Squadron. I miss those days. Sad story to relate. We have a pilot get married on the Flightline in front of everyone. He kissed his new wife and did a about face and borded the plane. Now the sad part. His plane went down in the Gulf of Sidra (SP). Only three made it out alive. He wasn't one of them. I felt for his wife. That was a very sad time. |
