I believe we all can make that choice....

Ok, I guess I'll finally wage in.... I think that there is lust at first sight or infatuation. But, falling in love is not something that you can choose. It is something that happens when you very clearly know that the person that you are falling for can see into your heart. It is comforting, calming, peaceful, joyful and REAL! You can tell yourself not to fall, but it doesn't mean that you aren't falling. You can choose not to tell or lie to yourself (like lex said) but you are still falling. Falling in love is very different from puppy love, you are sure about it. There are no doubts in your mind about how you feel about the other person and you just pray that they feel the same way. If you guard your heart, then it just makes it more painful to endure the falling. jmo. yes the applause was for my baby girl's answer....it was perfect just like you.....gigglesnort.

i am a firm believer that you can not help who you love. i think that you can try to deny it or put up the walls, but deep down, if you love, you cant help it. it happens.

I don't believe it is a choice. I believe when a real connection happens on the highest level, we do not choose it..it chooses us. I think the same way as you....it chooses us...

Well.......I have a book from years ago.......called Love is a choice!!! It describes co dependant relationships which at the time I was very codependant to people!! Now......you cant control your feelings of love toward someone but you can control what you do with those feelings. If you are in a destructive relationship, then you do have a choice to leave or not. Its up to you!!

I have to agree with gypsy. The heart may choose who it loves but the mind is what decides to act on it or not. And the mind not the heart is what sets the parameters of what you are willing or not willing to deal with in a relationship.
