In my experience, the age thing is as much a concern as you allow it to
be. True enough, there are some people who simply interact better with
others of their own generation -- and that's fine, if they're
comfortable with that. Other people see it differently.

I'm biased: I had a very satisfying relationship with a woman who was 16
years older, another with one much younger than I. I've also had
absolutely horrible relationships with all kinds of different ages, all
across the board. To me, not wanting to go out with someone solely
because of their age would be like turning them down because they had
the wrong shoe size, or eye color, or I didn't like the picture on their
driver's license. That stuff just doesn't matter to me.

But everybody has their own preferences and criteria; everybody has
their own deal-breakers. And that's OK, we need to know what we want
and what we don't want. For me, a big part of learning what I don't
want was experiencing. So, whereas some people's deal-breaker would be
a certain difference in ages, mine is drug/alcohol use. Just depends on
what you're looking for....

I GUES IM A SCAMP. (SLUT?) as my best relationship was with a woman who
was 15 yrs older than me. in the end it wasent the age issue, which
never was an issue, it was her drinking that drove me away from her.
Also when I was 40 I had a 20 yr old girlfriend.... we had a lot of fun.
I dont know about how a long term relationship couyld ever work with
that much difference, but it was fun while it lasted. Just for the
record, she pursued me, not the other way around. Some women like older
men. whatever works for you is fine from my chair. I have a neighbor who
is 60 and has lived with a gal who is now 28. They have been together
for as long as i have known them. He says that as he gets older his sex
drive is wayning, hes down to twice a day now. She confirms this story.
Bottom line is they are compatable, and happy, so whats the problem?

My relationship of 17 years was with a woman 10 years younger than me.
But I won't have another that much younger than me.
