What's the verdict on The Stones then? Some people say they need to retire. I have not been listening much since Mick Taylor left the band. Their sound seems "thin" to me ever since. Ronnie Wood's style is too similar to Richards. They do not mesh well IMHO |

I love them. They did SARStock here in Toronto to help our economy after the SARS scare and they did it for free. Really good concert too.

BTW, if you want some good live music, check out Cheap Trick when they roll into town. Now THERE'S an underrated band. I've seen them several times. I agree they are underrated. I think part of the problem is that Rick Nielsen is such a clown. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It is hard to take him seriously even though he's superb. |

Is he worthy of the iconic place in music he occupies? Is he the best individual songwriter of the rock/pop era? Song writer yes Singer NO! I will grant you that his voice is an acquired taste. ![]() ![]() ![]() You need to get underneath it and understand the raw emotion with which he conveys his songs. The only version of a Dylan song that I like better than the original is the Hendrix version of All Along The Watchtower. And the Johnny Rivers cover of Positively 4th Street is excellent as well. |
