I've learned there is no such thing as 'lending' if you are gonna do it, just consider it a gift...saves you a lot of grief in the end. I loaned someone $1,500 recently to repair their vehicle pay bills that were long overdue, etc. Two weeks later they let it slip they got a new laptop.
