The bane of our existence.... One person's pursuit to the right to express themselves can often offend and defile others' rights to NOT see and hear. There are several images that I've seen as a child and an adult that have stigmatized my psyche. As for parents being in control, one can only control so much, protect so much. There are people who purposefully and not on purpose that behave in such a way as to cause trauma, in real life, not just on tv. There are pictures of dead bloated bodies on the news and in magazines from the tsunami. A parent cannot cover the kids' eyes 100% of the time. NOR THEIR EARS. I am so controversial on this issue I will leave you with one thought two people are in bed and expressing some most human expression there is a loving relationship also there is this guy which has an axe in his hand blood is dripping of it crawls to another man and chops him in two. One is R rated the other is PG 13 which one do you think and which would you prefer your child to see. enough said  I have never used this smiley before Considering my oldest child is 7 y/o I owuldnt want either one of the movies seen. We cannot censor ADULT conversation to a level that is acceptable for children. the hell we can not. I do it every day. It is called not speak in such a manner when children are present. very simple. I am amazed. Daniel and I have agreed on something.  It's not THAT hard to do winx

Children are NOT always present, nor do they NEED to be present. Children are the most horrid thing ever thought up. Nearly 18 years of sucking life of someone else. I am so sorry to hear you say that. I truly pray that you come to your senses soon, or you will be doomed to a very lonely life, as I dont know ANY woman who would agree with that statement at all. Not even those who dont want children. |

no child stays young for long at least in his/her parents eyes  Im sorry winx and I typed it wrong - a child stays forever young in his/her parents eyes... least mine does!!! Mine will forever be my baby No, Fran, you're right.  They do grow up too fast. It happens when we're sleeping, you know. Mine will always be my baby too. I swear they age sometimes when I blink as well, not just sleeping, lol. |

I've seen it happen, read about it... I am sure that it has happened but there are ways to prevent it from happening. The couples that let it happen are not the majority, IMO. |

No one has the right to NOT be offended. I find cars offensive. They still exist. I don't need exhaust fumes in my face while I walk a few blocks to work...but there it is. I don't have the right NOT to be offended. I can either deal with it, or work to change it....avoid it, if at all possible. As far as kids, if I had kids I'd swear around them about as much as my parents swore around me. I wouldn't censor myself. Writes note to self - Don't let this swearing man around my kid that I don't swear around. They'll simply hear it somewhere else! Not that it matters. |

You're right, they should let you say more here...but I believe most forums are moderated, owned by private businesses, and they feel that they have a right to control what is said.

Opinions......though not all agree on them....should NOT be censored!!! I used to hang in this forum alot......until I got in trouble........even banned for my views and for sticking up to someone who was sexually harrassing someone!!! You ask me why I should even voice my opinion here??? I have better things to do!!
