I got a job...that's a responsibility. Got to make the rent. Gotta eat. But beyond that? I prefer to be basically SELF-reliant, not rely on others, not have others rely on me. Answer only to myself.

I personally don't use guns, even if I'm defending myself I tend to pick up a knife before a gun. All for people that own them though, and may one day pick up a Custom Colt 1911 .45 ACP!

The only time my home was broken into, I put the guy in a headlock and held onto him until my wife came home. She opened the door while I escorted him OUT of the house and told him not to come back. He never did.

I wouldn't have pressed charges, but my wife knew who he was. She's from a small town, and we moved there because her mom knew some people that could get us into a place. My housemate's boyfriend moved in with her, and they changed the locks on me, left my stuff out in the yard...so we didn't have a place to go, really. I figured it was easier to quit my job and move somewhere where I had "real" shelter, than have a job and live in the back of the shop after I locked up for the night. I've never had a problem getting another job. Shortly after we moved there, we got married...and after living with her a while I could see WHY the courts took her kids away.
