Topic: who is your hero and why? | |
---|---|
i feel this question can reveal alot about someone.
my hero is my grandpa because of several reasons. he served in the korean war in the army (and to me anyone who serves in the military deserves respect). he kept me disciplined during a very rough period of my life. he is kind, loving, and will do anything for anybody in need. he is not perfect but he is a great man in my eyes |

Yells (((((Mad props to Dirtyblonde's Grandpa))))
My newest HERO I just heard about on the news the other day. A 19 year old GI jumped on a hand grenade to save his buddie's lives. He died, and they lived. I'd like to think that if that ever came up when I was in the army, I could have done the same. |

When I saw that MBD posted I was going to go into a MBD rave about how he is my hero, then he posted Ron Jeremy, which then just proved my point that I have no real hero, they just knock themselves off their horse....

I can say I don't have a hero. I have found that no "hero" comes along and helps you. Inspiration may come from another's life but bottom line it is what you do with that inspiration. I have had a ****ty life and even had psrinks and therapists ask me why I bother living anymore, that it would be easier to just kill myself, guess what b*tches, I am still here.

After my Grandfather it would be Raymond Bourque. He is 1 of the greatest hockey players to ever lace up the skates in the NHL.He had a storybook 21yr.career with my beloved club the Boston Bruins. He was the complete package offering strength, leadership, endurance, hope & perseverance. In addition 2 breaking many records w/the club his accomplishments went well beyond the ice surface. He has always been involved w/cancer research @ Childrens Hasbro. He was quite the role model throughout these years as he captained the team to wards higher goals & expectations. He is a legend & is immortalized within the Hub of Hockey"Boston".His ultimate dream was achieved during the waining moments of his final game of his career. He has been inducted into the NHL Hall of Fame which places him w/the infamous & immortal players.Currently he owns a fine Italian cuisine restaurant in Boston & is still involved in many community youth programs.A classy guy indeed.Greatly missed on the ice.The video link below is a splendid testament.Godspeed!Ray.
