I was a foster kid, and ran away several times myself. It's a rough deal and hard to get used to your new families. Counting down the days to when you turn 18, it's like you're a prisoner if your foster families suck. New people pushing their values on you each time, oh joy. They'll just be put someplace else when they're caught so they might as well just deal with it and count those days. |

kids will be kids... they need to learn by their own mistakes... they need to FEEL as though they are in charge of their own lives.. it is difficult to let them do this...
what you can do though is... try to stay in contact with them for as long as you can... tell him that you WANT him to call you and let you know where they are and how they are and if anything happens they can call you and you would do the BEST you can to help out... that way they feel they can trust you and let you know there whereabouts so if something occurs you know exactly where they are and how to get them help and yadda yadda... it is late ... am i making sense? ha ha |

I know a lot of ppl who were on their own at that age and younger, including me, who lead very productive lives. At that age, I would just let them make their decisions.
