Oh no not this debate again. Where i come from being called a redneck is a friendly term, mostly because they are southern and grew up on farms and drive the 4 wheel drive monster trucks around town. Its their culture and its what they like, and its not hurting anyone.
I myself am a redneck, tho i don't have monster trucks or rebel flags posted all over my car. Its more like an attitude for me.

 it means to be a biggot or opinionated person even racist in some circumstances  Unfortunatly alot of them are like that, but not all. I do get tempted to rip their little rebel flags in half tho..lol;^] A lot of Americans died for that flag,,,,,Let's not forget the civil war took the most lives in the hitory of mankind,,,,,,Maybe they want to remember that,,,,,Good or Bad who are you to judge,,,,,, That's crap, "the south will rise again" is supposed to be a memorial for the soldiers who lost their lives? What about the union soldiers? Sorry to be intolerant, but I've got no time or sympathy for neo confederates and the like, if this was civil war times I'd be a staunch abolishinist. But again, not all rednecks are like that, in fact I have several very close redneck friends. Sorry, but I'll never tolerate the symbol of hatred which is the confederate flag;^] |

the term "redneck" actually came from the coal miners from Appalachia. They were the first to be unionized. The made a march on another county that had to union. The union members tied red handkercheifs around their necks to distinguish themselves from non-union workers...hence the term redneck.
And no, it doesn't mean you make moonshine, or are racist or any of that other baloney... |
