I haven't been camping in 4 years, so much more fun with someone to hang out in the tent with though so doubt I'll be going for a while.

Love the Hoh Rain Forest, the Kalaloch Ocean Beach, the best places in the world to go camping (okay, I haven't been all over the world) but these are certainly some of the most beautiful.
Did you ever see the Hoh Rain Forest before the damn loggers got to it and took out most of the trees lining the road?? It was incredible, the road is 20+ miles long to get to the base of it, where the actually camping area is, and it seemed like every few hundred feet the scenery would change, different vegetation, moss, trees, just beautiful, like something out of a Disney movie, but that was back in the early 70s, then the loggers moved in and clearcut along the road and took out the "fairy tale" look to it. Just made me sick. The ocean beach is still one of the best though. |

After nine years in the military, I prefer beds to bags. It will take a very special lady to get me camping again.

But Kristi, where is the "primal" camping spirit in that???
Heck, no rocks poking you in your back all night, mosquitoes chewing on you. Oh, and don't forget the cold "outhouse" seats that give you the rude awakening in the middle of the night -- sure the men miss out of that one. I love camping, but haven't been is many, many years. Love to go to the ocean when I do. |

Hiker - I take a dog, if a dog is making noise, people tend to leave you alone. You never know anymore though.
