so this is the infamous fans of harry potter forum. i hear of nasties that creeps around here. and i hear of witchcraft from the sheeps who are near. i must say though, i do adore the series even more so than the fairies. i love harry potter and i do dare bother, join a cult that has class, oh yes i rather. none of this really makes sense...so i'm just gonna say that, yes, i enjoy the harry potter series. hello everyone.glasses

My dog is named Remus. Yes, I love Remus Lupin. I lived in England for a year and went to Kings Cross only once. (Dodgy part of town) And I had a total Fan-Girl moment.noway laugh

Oh and Daniel Radcliffelove was AMAZING in Equus, which I saw for my birthday last year... Although it was a little weird seeing him nakednoway .

I just got Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince from the library today. I don't know if I'll read the whole thing. I really just got it to see what writers do. laugh

So I'm not sure whether I'll get drawn into the story or not.

Can anyone tell me which one this is in the series?

Also which is the first one? I think I'd actually like to see how the first one starts out.

Am I going to be expected to know things from previous books in the series in order to understand this one? Should I start with book one?

Like I say, I really got this just to get an idea of how books are written. I've been watching too many movies lately and reading physics and math books. laugh

In order:
Harry Potter and the Sorserer's Stone (also known as Philospher's Stone in other parts of the world)
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

You really should start with book one in my opinion.

Thank you very much. I think I will go back and get the first book first then. bigsmile

I really just grabbed this one to get an idea of how authors write. I'm starting a novel of my own and so I just wanted to see how they start the story out, how much they actually describe, and how much they actually use the characters talking to create the story.

I'm getting the information I wanted in any case. But to actually get into the the story for the story's sake I should probably go back and get book one.

I'm also reading The Golden Compass Series, but I did get the first book of that series.

I  Harry Potter.

I read that when they make the last book into a movie it might be actually split into 2 movies because there is so much going on in the book it'll be hard to fit into 1 movie.

What do you think, the first installment of movie 7 in 2 years from this November? Or do you think it'll be sooner?
