I'm jealous!!!

I got called twice, the first time I had just moved out of the jurisdiction and had to waive.... and the second time was for a civil case, but I wasn't seated. They had no other trials that week because the courthouse was full, the Bobby Cutts case was going on.

Last summer, I was called for the Texas City BP Explosion civil case. That sucked... For 4-5 days out of two weeks, over 230 people in one small room waiting to see who they were going to narrow it down to. There were like 6 plantiffs lumped into this case. It would have been cool to be in and sit on the case, but it would have been hard because two plantiffs were children of a man that committed suicide after the fact and he wasn't injured in the explosion (besides mentally) and it's hard to actually put a monetary value based on damages (how can you say what's too little or too much). I wasn't chosen because I had dated a guy that was actually in the explosion and had a lawsuit pending later on in the year.

I've gone in for jury duty 3 times and have never been seated. I think it has to do with my views on what to do with criminals.

The last time I was in a jury pool, I kept saying "they all deserve to hang." So I got let go. The case was about civil claim between to people recently divorced. :)

(No actually the last time I was called to jury duty was when "Burrhead" Ivy was arrested for giving the finger to a policeman who restrained him from fighting the fire of his then burning house. Terroristic threat was the charge, that's the Patriot Act at work there. He admitted to it, so we had no choice but to find him guilty. The judge fined him $25, the minumum, but the two other charges against him both came back not guilty.)

I was called , to 9 months of J. duty.(It was early '70s) I was on every jury, here in Roswell,NM except for 3 trials. ***I believe if your called today; they will only let you serve but 3 months.***(I was on about ten cases a month.) I sent a lot of people up-- to serve their time behind bars. (I was glad to help.)

In Colorado it's the 1 day/1 trial rule. Works for me
