I feel aggravated cause these 2 guys approached me moments ago saying that they were homeless and I told them I am trying to fend for myself but gave in and handed them .50 cents
Sometimes I get a little nervous cause I do not know if these people carry guns or whatever.
They're probably gonna use the money for crack or beergrumble

what would you of done?

I have given money before. Only because some of them are really needy. I only hope that the ones who are only looking for there next fix will find out that karma will get them in the end.

Exactly. If you just give them money, that opens a world of options, often the worst of which they'll choose (i.e. drugs 'n' booze).

I never give money to panhandlers. If they REALLY wanted to get themselves out of their jam, they could enter a myriad of programs intended to get them on the straight-and-narrow.

What they're really looking for is a quick fix of hootch or crack or something.

And to think raccoons were bad enough with THEIR begging for food. laugh

I don't offer to take them to lunch because you never know what their intentions are after they get in the car with ya. However, I will go to McDonalds or somewhere and pick up something for them.

She told them she had no money but she handed over her lunch to him.She turned around and saw him throw the whole thing in the garbage. Just goes to show you no good deed goes unpunished!!!!grumble

Something similar happened to me a number of years ago. I had just come out of the supermarket with a couple of boxes of donuts I had bought (this was for a party to take place later), and I was approached by a vagrant who wanted some change as he was "hungry".

"Hungry, huh...", I thought. So I gave him a box of donuts instead. To show his gratitude he muttered, "Just what the f*** am I supposed to do with this?"

Uh... EAT the donuts? You WERE hungry, right? huh

hey heres to panhandling.
i was panhandled 2x in mcd's...
once the girl said she needed $l.00 to get a something or another, and so I gave it to her. She never moved a muscle so I got suspicious. I looked over and she was fiddling with her phone, a nice $300 PDA cause I asked her what it was.....she never got her food, but trotted merrily off.

then, the second panhandling episode happened at another mcd's. some girls ran out of gas, and they had to be up at school in the morning. i saw them asked various people, but this was only after they went in and had themselves a couple of big mac's. i offerred them some 7 up from my cup, but they did not want that.....noway but jesus mary and joseph, this is the truth.
