I'm moving to an apartment with free wireless internet access. But I'll need a wireless card for my desktop computer. Can anyone tell me what I need to know for getting the right card for my computer?

look on your hard drive and figure out what type of card readers or ports you have
or write down the model or type of computer or call your tech support for computer.... if you go to best buy or other office/computer supplies store and they will be able to tell you. |

My computer is custom build. So I'll have to try and find that info. I have all the boxes. Thanks.

You can get one that uses a usb port. will work on any computer. That's what I use and it's great
|

Latancy is an issue, but it should only bother you if you play games or possibly watch movies online. I would suggest getting a download manager, as you could have problems downloading files as well.

I watch movies online. I download anything I want. It's broadband on a USB port.

If your PC is a desktop -v- notebook, go with an internal card. The range is better.
