Physical is just a few bruises, but goes hand in hand with emotional turmoil. Verbal is typically only emotional. I say physical.

some physical abuse is impossible to recover from..verbal fades over time.

Which is worse in a relationship...physical or verbal abuse? I'd say that both are pretty bad. I'd add in emotional abuse as well, though.

no excuse for either I agree, there is no excuse. I think verbal is worse since it does tear a person down and leave a more lasting effect.
