"My friends are getting married, and I'm just getting drunk!"

Being in my early twenties, I get several wedding invitations a year. Honestly, I love it! Free food and booze and lots of dancing!

In about a month, my brother and best friend are getting married which makes the wedding that much more fun! And tonight I'm going as a +1 with my friend to one of his buddies' weddings. It rocks!

Plus, it gives me a reason to buy a new dress and get all dolled up.

Have you guys been to lots of weddings? Do you enjoy it as much as I do?

I've even HAD a lot of weddings.

I've only been to a handful of weddings, and I've got to tell you- I was pretty much left cold. Boring as hell, lots of sobbing by the parents of the wife/groom, and the music stinks (who the hell plays elevator music at a wedding, anyway?).

Gotta admit, though- getting hit on by drunken (not to mention INCREDIBLY horny) bridesmaids was a pretty big plus.

Don't forget to tip the bartender.

Marriage and booze -- permanent brain damage all the way around....!!



I haven't been to a wedding since my own. I can't stand to see the sheep going to the slaughter.

Haha, well I may just be one of those bridesmaids. I'm the maid of honor at my brother's wedding. And I definitely will have my eye out.

I love weddings as long as they are not mine.

I love the wedding receptions.....Love dancing and seeing the older couples dancing.........Love to see the drunk older woman getting there groove on.....

Love people watching..........The crazy dancing uncle....

Not to mention those aforementioned drunk and horny-as-hell bridesmaids. I swear... I never got my junk grabbed more times than at a wedding reception.

They are worse at a strip club...lol...

Are you speaking from personal experience?

No...thankfully. A former boss once was literally going to a wedding every other weekend over the summer because either he or his GF had someone they knew tying the knot. He used to joke to me that when I hit my late 20s I'd be getting dragged to weddings galore.

Luckily I somehow managed to not end up that way.



Not really. Weddings just aren't fun in my eyes. Most of them are cash bars and the food is "eh". I never liked the music they play at most weddings (more into underground music and world music than pop hits).

Plus I never can connect really with anyone at the weddings I've gone to. Usually it's mostly older relatives and little kids in attendance. The vision the movies give of loads of hot single lonely men and women never seems to exist, or I don't get invited to those weddings. So I either end up talking to senior citizens who more talk to me like I'm a small child (and the women tell me how I should find a nice girl), or the few people I meet around my age are more blabbing about their kids and home improvement. Nothing wrong with that, but I'm more just an urban dweller into more cultural affairs and such.

So no...I don't enjoy weddings and I avoid them as much as possible. I have two though coming this year, so I'll paint a smile on my face and just deal with it.
